Coop System Service Co., Ltd.’s Dainaka Food Center is a central kitchen that delivers boxed meals, side dishes, meal kits, and more to Coop Shiga members. To extend the shelf life of boxed meals and better meet customer needs, the company recently installed the compact MAP tray sealer “LX-5600,” which can seamlessly handle everything from weighing and gas flushing to sealing and pricing.

Customers wanted to enjoy fresh, non-frozen boxed meals even on weekends and holidays when regular delivery services were closed. However, the short shelf life of boxed lunches posed a significant challenge in meeting this demand.

With the LX-5600’s MAP packaging, the shelf life of boxed meals were extended, enabling bulk delivery on the day before weekends and holidays. As a result, customers can now enjoy fresh, non-frozen boxed meals even during holidays.
In addition, the LX-5600 integrates weighing, gas flushing, sealing and pricing in a single compact unit, dramatically improving operational efficiency. Its small footprint also makes it easy to install in facilities with limited space.
Moreover, the ability to deliver in bulk rather than immediately after production helps reduce food miles, thereby contributing to a lower environmental impact.
